should be available
also can anyone who is interested sign up just in case (full columi/some BH bits min), we have potential with so many people available next week to stretch to a 16man version with a few friends perhaps so sign up even if the 8 man list is full. Maybe if we get 12 or so from guild, we could try it perhaps.

Should be there on Fran(heal) or Miya(rdps), depending on who we need.

the perfectionists, know the tactics inside out, know each fight, have maximized their role and rotations, spent time on the ops test dummies perfecting their builds. The campaign level of ops requires a step beyond casual. You have to be skilled in not just your own role, but the entire fight and how to always minimise as much incoming damage as possible that you are getting whilst applying the maximum damage.
I fully suspect that moving beyond TFB SM requires a leap like that (EC HM, TFB HM). It is then we might have to switch from a FIFO signup to a more soccer team approach of who is best for each role as being a factor in who gets picked.
We know we have the gear (full or 80%+ 61) for the ops team, so we arnt failing due to gear but tactics and skill which is the part we need to practice and improve.

Re: EC (8) (SM) - 7 - 11 - 12
Unfortunately, I agree with Leo. In a way, SWTOR is much nicer than WoW, because there is no "tyranny of Damage Meters" (or healing meters). But it also means that it's impossible to know whether people are actually beyond casual or not. And the campaign level require beyond casual playing skills.
For example, I know, Mel, that you have a high spike damage, because you are one of the few sentinels that I have seen that can tear aggro from me when I am not being extra-careful about generating threat. But even that is no indication of performance during a boss fight, because it's long-term average damage that is important. Also, on some bosses, the ability to produce it in spikes is important, but on others it's not.
So it can be very subtle. And the thing is that it's easy, because of slow or bad rotations, to lose 10-20% DPS output. And that is the difference between NM and HM. I used to raid as a mage, and on some evenings, with the same gear, same rotation, same bosses, I could easily squeeze in 5-10% DPS by being absolutely focussed on timing (there are tools in WoW that let you optimise this). But you can't do it all the time, it's tiring and any distraction gets you off. On a long boss fight, you can't even do it for the whole fight, only part of it. But using that at the proper time is also the thing that separates casual from hardcore raiders.
The thing is that, in this guild, I think we're here to have fun, but it takes special people to have fun while being that hardcore, and it's probably not us. So let's enjoy the game and do some progression on NM (finishing TFB would be nice), and we can try Toth and Zorn on HM, but expect slow progression here, that's not what we are made for...

Re: EC (8) (SM) - 7 - 11 - 12
I know what is an A-team, what I wanted to know is what is OUR A-team.
That being said I was a member of the A-team in a top hardcore guild in the previous MMO I was playing and I can tell you that we are not even close to that. We played the same thing again and again, night after night and we only stopped when it's done (it may sound tiring but it's not - the feeling of doing an achivement in a team is exceptionnal - it's not fun, but it gives awesome feelings like when you play serious sport in a good team). We presently don't have the dedication to be hardcore. The only thing that allows us (and others) to do end content is that top gear is distributed like candy and that the game mechanics is pretty straightforward and that the game is super easy (raids are beaten in PTS - in the game I was before you could wait 6 months for a world first).
That being said I totally agree with what you said :-)

Re: EC (8) (SM) - 7 - 11 - 12
So, now I can't participate in TFB, because I can't come to Wednesday's Ops run?
I want to do Ops for Fun, any gear picked up along the way? Oh, nice. But now, you have to be a hardcore raider to even be able to partcipate in Ops? Because you'll monitor people's progression on Wednesday.
If you want this guild to have an A-team, turn into a hardcore raiding guild, then? I think that not a lot of people would want to do this, but do remember, that if you turn into one, a lot of people will lose faith in you. You'll have your own little fun Elitist team, woohoo, tons of fun, raiding your asses off for progression, my god, this guild isn't what it was anymore. I'm pretty sure a lot of people will agree with me on this. But if you really want to become a raiding guild, become one, just don't expect me to ever come back, or give a damn.

Re: EC (8) (SM) - 7 - 11 - 12
My foot is going down NOW.
We do NOT have an "A-Team".
We are NOT that kind of guild.
And since the 18th of October - sign-ups are NOT first-come first serve. They are "Officer Discretion".
This is disgusting. This is discrimination and segregation of members. This is something expected of a hard-core opertions guild. We are SUPPOSED to be a casual/fun guild that attends every element of gameplay.
I am unbelievably upset, and disgusted by this talk. DISGUSTED.
This has affirmed it for me - I no longer want anything to do with this guild. I was talking of stepping down as I'd failed to bring this guild back to what it was - but this? This is where I leave the Order of Light.

what on this earth is going on
i have read all this and would like to know why something like this has broke out on a sign up this is something for the cantine, I myself feel ashamed that something that look more like people discussing something about there thoughts of the Guild at this moment has made so many problem's and i feel like i have been put in to a hard spot and a rock now but nevermind most get on with thing and attempt to resove the problem's best i can

Re: EC (8) (SM) - 7 - 11 - 12
As for my self, I don't know where that came from, but I think we should not over-generalise. Most people I think are happy, and I believe it's mostly some disgruntlement from a few people over one or two evenings. So, in particular you, Bren, I know that you have a tendency to take it personally, so here is my advice: don't !
You cannot please everyone all the time, and some choices are bound to make some people unhappy, but it's not a reason for you to feel bad about what is happening, you are really trying your best and it's in big part thanks to your efforts that we've had so much fun in the past few months. So thanks for all that, and don't let a few grumbles get you down.
And that's all that I'm going to say on this subject, because I think that forum posts are a really really bad way to air these kind of feelings, let's d it over TS or, at worse over the chat...
So thanks again and enjoy what's left of the week-end.
